School Holiday are only a couple of weeks away which means ...
School's out. Fun's In!
The Little Gym Dural run 3 hours of fun and themed camp sessions that children love! The themes change each week and are designed to stimulate physical and motor-skill development with games and gymnastics, all in the care of qualified and dedicated instructors. There is also allocated time to fueling up with morning tea (provided by us!) and working the children's artistic imagination with themed craft activities.
We have an air conditioned facility so it is perfect for those super cold mornings or those really hot afternoons. We pride ourselves in our clean and healthy environment and do like to remind all students/parents that we are an allergen free zone.

As part of a new NSW Government Initiative to help with the cost of living, Parents, guardians and carers can claim a $100 voucher per year for each school-aged child (4.5 to 18 years old) to put towards the cost of lessons and fees with registered providers. There are two vouchers that are available to be redeemed including the Creative Kids, which is all about making it easier to get involved in creative and cultural activities as well as Active Kids to contribute to registration, participation and membership costs for sport, fitness and active recreation activities.
At The Little Gym Dural we are a registered provider for both Creative and Active Kids and will be accepting vouchers for our Dance and Gymnastics Program.
The voucher can be used at any time during the calendar year it was issued and the program runs year-round, so kids can get active at any time!
The best way to get started is to contact the team on 8443 0160 or email dural@thelittlegym.com.au to find a class time that works for you and apply for a voucher at Service NSW.
Please remember, each voucher will require its own application.

Some children are natural born leaders; they’re confident, bossy, and have a natural instinct to take charge. Some children simply need more time for those skills to blossom. They require more guidance, nurturing, and even reassurance to strengthen leadership qualities like confidence and perseverance. Leadership skills can significantly help children now and in their future. Check out these 5 ways to instil leadership skills in your child.
Providing children with opportunities to develop and strengthen these skills will help them become more confident leaders through adolescence and adulthood. Click here to learn more about The Little Gym and to find a location near you.
A recent review of 26 previously published studies involving more than 10,000 children, between the ages of four and 13 years old, demonstrates that incorporating physical activity into a child’s daily routine can help improve the child’s performance in math and reading. Researchers believe that this benefit has a neurobiological, or the biology of the nervous system, explanation as exercise increases blood flow to the brain. In addition, the social component shows that there are benefits to children’s overall mental health.
Research Findings
The research highlights the fact that regular physical activity benefits not only the body, but the brain, too. Children have a natural inclination to be active, and by providing children with opportunities for active, physical play, a child’s behaviour and performance in school, and at home, will naturally improve.
The study revealed the strongest correlation between physical activities that are integrated into the school day and improved academic performance. For many school systems, however, an emphasis on increasing the number of academic hours makes finding time in the school day for physical activity difficult. In those situations, after school programs like sports or kid-focused programs like those offered by The Little Gym can provide a necessary outlet for children’s energy. Not only that, but it provides the physical and social benefits that help bolster academic performance.
Adding Physical Fitness to Your Child’s Routine
With children starting school in the new year, it can be a challenge to schedule regular outdoor activities for school-aged children. This can be noticeably difficult for Kindergarten starters. But the need for regular physical activity isn't seasonal; it's important to make physical activity for kids a priority year round. Instilling healthy exercise habits at an early age can help reduce the risk of serious illnesses and contribute to the development of a healthy body image. Regular exercise also helps children perform better in class and can be critical to their future emotional wellbeing in their personal and professional lives.
