Your favourite The Little Gym story?

There are endless stories to share, but to sum them all up; my favourite thing about The Little Gym is how all the children absolutely love coming in for classes every week. The smiles, giggles, development, Hi’ Fives and self-confidence are some of the amazing things that the children experience on a weekly basis. Parents are seeing a difference in the development of their children whether it be physically, socially and even emotionally. The children always love learning, and the best thing about it, is that sometimes they don’t even realise that they are. Our Members have made every week a great week and we couldn’t be happier with our The Little Gym family!

How did you get interested in sports?

Growing up, I was never really that interested in sports. I was a bit of a girly girl and was the type to not want to break a nail. Once I started focusing on my fitness and health, I felt the best I could and since then you couldn’t stop me from giving it a go. I love playing soccer and my favourite position is being goalkeeper! Yes, I did break a finger but it was worth saving that goal. Now that I work within a gymnastics environment and am learning new things every day, I wish I started from a young age. It is so exhilarating doing the skills I can, and the confidence building continues even at my age!

What do you love to do in your free time?
I feel like I am constantly busy and I love it. I always like to be doing something, whether it is visiting my family and my adorable nieces and nephews (I have 7 to be exact), going out for coffee with friends, having movie nights, going for drives, going out for breakfast, planning for the week ahead and spending time with my beloved Fiancé who will soon be my husband in 2018.

What can't you live without?

Without any hesitation, I cant live without my family (and food)! They are the greatest support networks anyone could have. We have always been close and without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. We all have a passion for food making every meal, a delicious one. Other than my family in Australia, I also have family who live in Jerusalem and America. It’s has been great to be able to visit them every couple of years and always go on new adventures (and trying new and authentic food).

There are plenty of rewards of working at The Little Gym. Seeing all the smiling faces every week is always a highlight. One thing I love is helping a child perform a skill for the first time, seeing their look of pride and excitement, their parents applauding them and seeing them so confident and knowing I've played a part in boosting their self esteem, and helping them with their future accomplishments.

How did you get interested in sports?

Sports is a very big part of the Australian lifestyle and growing up my parents made sure to keep me active. I started with competitive swimming, and then did karate, rugby league, squash, tennis, soccer, boxing, Muay Thai and mixed martial arts. But no doubt my absolute favourite sport to play or watch has to be rugby league (go the Eels!)

What do you love to do in your free time?
Spending time with my soon-to-be wife, whether it be shopping or going swimming or just sitting at home watching movies. Other than that, I enjoy either spending time playing video games at home, or spending time with friends.

What can't you live without?

A good night's sleep! This is absolutely necessary for me to get a good rest. I can go without food and be all right, but if I'm tired, man do I get grumpy. Also coffee. Need a good cup of coffee to kick start my day!

For me as an instructor it is often the experience yet to come. A child's achievement in the gym can mean the world to them, and there is a special magic to it when that moment arrives unexpected and catches you off guard.

How did you get interested in sports?

From very early on I was quite lucky. I can remember one year where I competed in the pool, at surf life saving, within two soccer leagues and a triathlon. My parents were always finding greet new sports clubs for me to be involved in. I guess I was just wired to get moving and have fun. Looking back I am especially thankful for the effort my parents went through to make it all happen. Nowadays I can say from the bottom of my heart- that I understand the benefit to a child's wellbeing when they belong to something special like The Little Gym.

What do you love to do in your free time?
There is not a single day where I don't take the opportunity to rock out. I will barely get through breakfast before I'm blasting the music for myself and the neighbours. Music really has become an instrumental part in who I am and what I do. More recently I have discovered a passion for motorcycles. It's exciting to start out in something new with so many nuances to experience and learn about. If you are brave enough I highly recommend giving it a go.

What can't you live without?

If one day my barista skills were taken away it would change my life. One cannot start a good day without a good coffee. If a single part of my guitar collection was destroyed, I would replace it in a heart beat. And my exercise playlist is also sacred to me. But truthfully I value most those special few who choose to be close around me and share the things we love.

There are an endless amount of stories to be told and choose from but the best thing is hearing what stories each child has to tell and what funny things they come up with. It makes me appreciate their imagination a whole lot more!

From the age of 3, I have been dancing along side my older sister and at 5 years old a friend asked me to start horse riding with her. Since that day, I havn't stopped and I now have horses of my own! I love to try new things and I give all sports a go.

I don’t think that I could point out one story in particular, but I like watching all of the kids enjoying themselves, singing happy birthday and helping and encouraging eachother to try new things such as walking on the beam for the first time.

How did you get interested in sports?

I became interested in sports after my Mum put me in a tutu and in dance classes at the age of 3. I have been dancing for 15 years and competed for 6 years. I also played Netball for my local team when I started primary school, although I wasn’t very good! From there I watched my older cousin compete in the Australian Under 20’s female basketball team which made me want to give basketball a go too!

What do you love to do in your free time?
In my free time I like to participate in dance classes, play soccer with my puppies and bake.

What can't you live without?

One thing that I could not live without is Chocolate!

One day a young girl came up to me asking me to show her a magic trick. With her big eyes staring at me how could I resist! I showed her a small trick I knew and she was just adorably amazed.

I grew up on a horse farm, my sister and I would often climb trees so my mother got us into gymnastics. But now I dedicate my time into horse riding.

What do you love to do in your free time?
Go out for a ride and spend time with my horses.

What can't you live without?

My horse… he means everything to me.

Your favourite The Little Gym story?

I definitely cannot pick one favourite story at The Little Gym because everyday is a new and exciting experience. I love watching children come into the gym for the very first time and loving every moment of it. It is so magical to see when children walk in and feel like they are in another world, a place they can be who ever they want to be. Seeing their confidence boost and their constant progression over the semester, I genuinely feel that I am making a difference in a child’s life both physically and emotionally.

How did you get interested in sports?

I started playing sports from a young age. In my primary school years I decided to get into Netball and more recently I started playing soccer with a few of my friends. I love to stay healthy and fit, and I found that playing non-competitive sports was the best way for me.

What do you love to do in your free time?
In my free time I love shopping, watching movies, playing soccer, baking, listening to music and the list goes on. I am a huge make-up and hair addict! I love to go crazy on buying products and trying them out on my family and friends. Coming from a big family, I love spending time with them especially my many nieces and nephews.

What can't you live without?

I can’t live without food. Food is life.
